About BIFA

The British Independent Film Awards were created in 1998 by Raindance founder Elliot Grove, to celebrate merit and achievement in independently funded British filmmaking, to honour new talent, and to promote British films and filmmaking to a wider public. This years awards will take place on 6th December 2009. Nominations will be announced in October.
